One of the biggest ministry events that we have ever attempted is almost here. Missions Conference 2010 will be held at Carrollwood Baptist Church on March 19-21. I want to encourage each one of you to make every effort to attend. It will begin with a Friday night Missions Rally featuring Debbie Weber, IMB missionary serving in the Far East. Charles Graham, one of our favorite singers, will be leading the music and singing for us as well. We are awaiting a final response from a second speaker. Saturday will bring a mid-day event that starts at 11:00 am with a Missions Fair. All the missionaries and mission organizations will be presenting their ministries at tables set up in Carpenter Hall. It will be your opportunity to move from table to table to get an overview of all the opportunities to be involved in missions. At 11:45 am we will have a lunch break together and once again enjoy the music of Charles Graham as well as some testimonies from some of our people who have participated in mission trips and projects. This will be followed by 3 breakout sessions where all of our guests will be sharing more information about their ministry and holding Question and Answer sessions. Saturday’s program will conclude at 2:00 pm. On Sunday, our Youth and Adults will meet together at the Bible Study hour. During that time, you will hear from Tom Biles, our Director of Missions for the Tampa Bay Baptist Association, and Charles Graham. The Conference will conclude with our Sunday Morning Worship Service where Charles Graham will lead the music and our mission speaker will be Winston Lages. Winston was born in Brazil and is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He has just begun a new church in Manaus, Brazil, and continues to work with Christian Missions Unlimited in building churches throughout all of the country.
I believe that God has honored our faithfulness to missions but we must not ever stop keeping on, keeping on. We need to constantly keep on giving and going even when times are tough. Let me urge you one more time to make every effort to attend our Missions Conference. You will want to invite your friends to participate with us. This is a monumental task for a church our size but it is nothing at all, when you consider the size of our God. As the song says, “to God be the glory, great things He has done.” Let me add my follow-up lines to the song. “To God be the Glory, great things He has done, great things He is doing and great things he will continue to do through our faithfulness in giving and going.”

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Tom
